[Androidme2018]- The latest Google Nexus smartphone, the Nexus 6, has a lot in common with the Moto X 2014, not least its parents: they’re both made by Motorola, which of course is now part of Google. So what are the key differences between the two handsets? Here's what you need to know before deciding whether to pre-order for November delivery.

Nexus 6 vs Moto X 2014: display and screen
The Nexus 6 has a 5.96-inch QHD display delivering 1,440 x 2,560 pixels at a pixel density of 493 ppi, while the Moto X 2014 has a 5.2-inch AMOLED delivering 1,920 x 1,080 pixels at a density of 423 ppi. If you’re a fan of holding your phone really close to your face, the Nexus has the edge here.
Google hasn't confirmed the full Nexus 6 specifications yet, but we're tracking all the rumors here.
Nexus 6 vs Moto X 2014: design and build quality
Hmm, this one’s a toughie: given the choice between a phone made and designed by Motorola or a phone made and designed by Motorola, which one would you choose? They look the same, they come from the same place and we’re sure they’re going to be engineered to the same standards. The Moto does have a few more options, though, as there are optional wood or leather covers.

Nexus 6 vs Moto X 2014: operating system

Nexus 6 vs Moto X 2014: battery
Motorola gives its own phone a 2,300 mAh battery but the Nexus’s bigger screen demands more power - so it’s been given a 3,220 mAh battery so the screen doesn’t ruin its stamina. Both devices have Motorola's fast charging technology, which can deliver up to 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.

Nexus 6 vs Moto X 2014: early verdict
In many ways the Nexus 6 is the Moto X with some minor updates: it has a bigger, more densely packed screen, a faster processor and an extra gigabyte of RAM. There’s a bigger battery too, although to an extent that’s nullified by the extra power required by that bigger display. If you like the Moto X but wish it were a little bigger, the Nexus 6 looks set to delight you - but if you’re quite happy with the slightly smaller display the inevitable discounting on the Moto X could make it quite the bargain.
What do you think? Is the Nexus 6 really the Moto X with some spec bumps? Is a wooden cover a deal-breaker?
