Best LG G3 vs Oppo Find 7: the QHD horizon approaches -Androidme2018

[Androidme2018]- With the official relase of the LG G3 in the US market rapidly approaching in mid-July, consumers desperate for an Android device with a massive QHD display have a choice to make: go with the South Korean OEM making a major comeback with the G3, or take a chance on a lesser known startup out of China with the Oppo Find 7.

We won't go into much detail on aesthetics here because the point of this article is to compare hardware specs and price. We've added some comparison images so you know what the basic design differences are like between the two devices but the major purchasing choice that we're expecting for most consumers is price and the good stuff inside. So which device should you fork out for?

As you can see there's not much in it as far as specs go. Both devices have the same size and resolution screen, both have striking appearances and built-in features you won't get anywhere else. One comes with either CyanogenMod or Color OS based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the other with a cleaned up manufacturer skin over the top of Android 4.4.2. The G3's Optimus UI certainly looks more modern and fresh, but user interfaces are a matter of personal preference. Hardware is where we can compare apples to apples.

If we look at the 32 GB versions, both are running the same processor, RAM and 3,000 mAh removable battery, and both have microSD expansion. They have the same resolution cameras and very similar connectivity options. The differences come in the details: the G3 has a noticeably smaller footprint than the Find 7, despite sharing the exact same size display. The G3 also supports Qi wireless charging for its removable battery: another option the Find 7 misses out on, although the Find 7 supports fast charging. The G3 is noticeably lighter as well and has what I would call a superior camera, even if the Oppo's speaker is better. Both devices cost the same, but LG has better distribution, support and a newer version of Android to boot. While I appluad Oppo and highly regard the Find 7, for my money I'd still lean towards the G3.
Which device do you prefer? Are you considering a QHD smartphone?
