[Androidme2018]- After we compared the leaked specs for the Galaxy S5 mini to the LG G3 mini yesterday, Samsung has just announced the new mini version of their current Android smartphone, the Galaxy S5 mini, all with Android 4.4 KitKat, IP67 water and dust resistance, and ultra power saving mode among a nice list of tech specs.

The 4.5-inch smartphone, with a Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3, will please those who prefer smaller, yet still performing smartphones (as opposed to the 5.1-inches of the Galaxy S5), and it looks like the more compact version will still offer a good amount of power with a quad-core 1.4 GHZ processor, with 1.5 GB of RAM. All this is backed up with a 2,100 mAh battery. On the outside, you’ll find the same perforated back cover as the Galaxy S5, and the mini also comes with a variety of colors: charcoal black, shimmery white, electric blue and copper gold.

When it comes down to software, there are a lot of similarities between the S5 and the S5 mini, such as an ultra-power saving mode in order to extend battery life. As part of the new TouchWiz UX with a much flatter look and a ton of S5-specific features, you’ll also be getting S health, a centralized hub with all your health applications, as well as Private Mode and Kids Mode, the first to keep your private data accessible only with a password, and the latter a second user profile for children, with limited access to information and apps. The S5 mini will be running Android 4.4 KitKat right out the box. Lastly, the new smartphone will also support LTE category 4.
