[Androidme2018]- You know how Samsung likes to get their phones into every niche of the planet? Well, that's probably why they just unveiled their Galaxy Xcover 2, a rugged smartphone made for extreme conditions. How extreme? I'm talking about a phone that can be submerged underwater for a full 30 minutes! Not only that, it can even take photos underwater! The Xcover 2 is also dust / sand / drop-proof.
Another great feature for those with extreme jobs is the "enhanced GPS + GLONASS" built into the phone, which "shortens satellite signal detection by 20% and tracks your location more accurately." It's got a pretty standard 1,700 mAh battery, although Samsung calls it "massive."
Aside from its rugged charms, the phone doesn't have a whole lot going for it. Tech specs are lackluster, including:
4" WVGA Display
1GHz dual-core processor
1GB of RAM
5MP Camera
Android 4.1
It's also not a very light or sleek device, coming in at 130.5 x 67.7 x 12 mm and weighing 148.5 grams.
No word on price or release date but we may know more at MWC next month.
